How to make a 56K Loopback Cable:

Pin 7 - White-Brown
Pin 8 - Brown

Steps to create a 56K loopback cable

  • Cut the end off a normal Ethernet cable so that you have a cable with one end about a foot long
  • Strip wires 1 (White-Orange), 2 (Orange), 7 (White-Brown) and 8 (Brown)
  • Twist wires 1 and 7 together
  • Twist wires 2 and 8 together
  • Leave the other wires alone
